Really I'm Not A Complete Slacker

posted Friday, 14 March 2008

It's been a week since I blogged. How does that happen? Everything is getting away from me. Really, you should see the laundry. At least I have been knitting. This is the latest project. It was started as an I need something to knit in the car project and it will be a gift. I have taken the Gentleman's Fancy Sock pattern from Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks and done my own thing with it. Hopefully it will fit the recipient. The yarn is Fearless Fiber which was a gift from Beth. The color is extremely accurate in this photo which makes no sense since the other 2 photos in this post have the complete wrong color.

Lily continues and looks like a real sweater. She even fits, more or less. Please keep in mind that the yarn for this sweater is black, not the navy blue it looks here. I have completed the waist shaping, the first sweater I have ever done with waste shaping-I think I'll use it again in the future, and have just a couple more inches to complete the body. That will leave just the edging around the front and neck and the ties and it will be done. I can't wait to wear it!

Finally we have the worst photo of the lot. This is the first Oc-toe-ber sock. If you look back (I don't have time to link right now, remember the pile of laundry that's calling my name well it's friends the sink full of dishes wonders where I am too) you will see that this sock is actually bright green with bits of gray and black. I will get back to knitting the mate once I finish the gift socks. I'll try to blog again soon if I can get caught up on a few things.

Lovely knitting! I am working on a plain sock and a basic sweater for my new niece/nephew.....And, like you, I have loads and loads of laundry. It's funny how the laundry can get out of control so quickly! While I'm washing, drying and folding I'll take comfort in knowing that you are right there along with me. Oh and, Abby has been put on a new antibiotic (the 3rd one since January), the one consolation I have is for every prescription I have filled at CVS I use a coupon to get a $30 Gift card (my wallet is stuffed with them!)....

Yours really does look like a sweater. Mine is still a shrug.

Hey...if you are cranking out that much in the knitting department, I'd say you can be forgiven for not blogging. Impressive!!!

You are making great progress on Lily. I am anxious to see it finished...it is on my "someday" list. My mom has asked for new spring socks, so perhaps that will motivate me back to my sock needles.... or perhaps not...LOL! Yours look wonderful!
