It'll Grow

posted Friday, 14 December 2007

So yesterday we got in the car along with everyone else in this area and spent way too many hours in the car traveling at 5 mph to pick H up for Christmas break. Along with a mountain of laundry she brought home her plant, Spikey Bits. It amazes me that she has managed to keep it alive as long as she has but it is a cactus and her dorm room is tropical. Spikey Bits will spend the holidays in our much chillier house and hopefully return to college in the same alive condition.

Maybe the plant is doing so well since it looks so much like H does these days. When she got in the car yesterday wearing a hat that still showed a lot of ear I asked as calmly as I could having just driven for 6 1/2 hours and only traveling 60 miles if she had shaved her head. She removed the hat and said it would grow. Sorry for the bad photo. I took it while she was in bed and I promised not to show her face or anything else really.

There are worse things than a shaved head. Really. That will grow back. And now you have an excuse to knit all kinds of cute hats!

Oh yes... I remember the time we picked our son up from college....he had blue hair!

This too shall pass... Just hang in there!

That is some hair cut. Does she like it? For this "issue" that might be all that counts. Hope you enjoy all the time you can together while she is home! :)

Man, I was pissed when Meg cut her own bangs. I hate them. BUT, the tattoo was worse.

My daughter cut her really long hair really, really short in her younger days too. She hated it though and let it grow back.

My mom had "three sons" for the first Christmas I came home from college. She hated my new shorter hair, but i loved it... for it's ease in college: no styling! And, the boys liked it... they really did!

this too shall pass... my mom still loves my hair long, but when I offer to come over so she can blowdry it each day, she backs off a bit. :)

College= experimentation; be ecstatic that it's just her hair. Besides, if you "love it!" she might just grow it back. ;)
