Finally a FO

Thursday, 29 March 2007 7:05 A GMT-05
I finally finished something. Here is N in his hat. It's a simple rolled edge hat knit in Rowan Denim. I washed it in the washing machine and dried it in the dryer and it fits pretty well. This was my first time knitting with denim and I'd ha

Sometimes You Just Have To Ask

On Saturday we went out to run a few errands. A quick stop at Target with an even quicker run through the toy department just to see netted us the long wished for Chick Hicks car (for a mere $3.29 I might add!). N is thrilled with his new car and has

Things Rattling Around In My Mind

Friday, 23 March 2007 1:11 P GMT-05
I'm thinking of knitting a Must Have Cardigan, from the Patons Street Smart booklet. I can't find the pattern locally so I spent some time looking in online shops for it. Do you think it is insane to pay $6 shipping for a $5.50 pattern? I do.

And the Blog is 3.

Thursday, 22 March 2007 7:27 A GMT-05
Today is the third anniversary of the blog. When I wrote my first post I had a vision in my mind of what I wanted the blog to be. In the passing years it has evolved into what it is: a place for me to talk about my knitting, my family and my lif

Lost Weekend

Wednesday, 21 March 2007 7:02 A GMT-05
It all started on Friday with the snow. I felt a twinge of a headache. By the time 8 1/2 inches of snow had fallen my head was throbbing and continued to throb all weekend and into Monday. There was no knitting, no cooking, no nothing. Just Advil and

Boring Post Ahead

I have been planning a little post showing the progress on the sock but that isn't happening. There has been lots of progress on the sock. I just can't show it to you. H is taking a film class this semester. Our digital camera is also a digit

Here’s how it works. Copy the list and bold the books you’ve read. It’s simple! 1. The DaVinci Code (Dan Brown)2. Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen)3. To Kill A Mockingbird (Harp

Late Posting

I'm running late today. H is home sick and has spent most of the day on the computer. I finally got her off so here I am. Thank you for all the compliments on the Fake Isle hat. I appreciate every

Fake Isle Hat DONE

Friday, 9 March 2007 12:00 A GMT-05
I often pick up some yarn and needles and cast on a project and never finish. I work on it for an evening or two and decide it isn't doing it for me and I move on. There is something about this ha

Hat Again

Thursday, 8 March 2007 12:00 A GMT-05
I'm wondering just how long I can milk this hat for somewhat interesting posts. Here's the fourth start, but the first from the other end of the ball of Noro. It's coming along fine and lo

Wild and Wacky Wednesday

Wednesday, 7 March 2007 9:36 A GMT-05
Some days I don't know what to say. Words just don't come. I really love the way this hat looks. I worked on it for a few more hours last night. The Noro is something extra special. I passed it by in the past because I never knew what to do w

Stating The Obvious

Tuesday, 6 March 2007 9:05 A GMT-05
The Fake Isle hat is so much easier to knit on the size 7 circular needle. Obviously based on how much I got done in two short sittings. The colors in the Noro are so vibrant. I'm not quite catching them with the camera though. Next I start the s

All That Stuff

Monday, 5 March 2007 8:25 A GMT-05
I finished the Springtime in Paris socks over the weekend. They are the current Six Sox KAL pattern. I knit them in leftover white Silja yarn on size 1 needles. The pattern was knit toe up and inside out which was very interesting. I knit them on 66

Woes

Here is the progress on the Fake Isle hat. The jogless jog instructions really helped a lot. I check out a few web sites and ended up going with one called Meg's Jogless Jog. It's easy and deals with the problem pretty well. As with all thing
