Sorry to have disappeared there for a bit. We have had sickness visiting our house along with H who's home for spring break. It's been a full week.
I do have knitting things to show but I think I'll save those for another day. Today I want to talk about shoes. Everyone I know has issues with shoes or feet. I too have issues but probably not the standard type issue. I have small feet, really small feet. When I was in college I needed flat plain shoes for my job and I had to buy them at Stride Right. Back then I wore a size 2 1/2 DD. I didn't end up with very cute shoes. Fast forward to now. After pregnancy and aging I am now up to a size 4 shoe and can sometimes get into a medium width if it's generously sized. Unfortunately I'm still buying my shoes in the kids department.
For ages I've been searching for cute shoes to wear with my handknit socks. I wanted something Mary Jane like with a rubber sole but not a patent leather upper. Yesterday I found just what I wanted. They aren't perfect, I really wanted a buckle and not velcro, but they'll do. Having new shoes makes me want new socks to go with them so I'll be working on some socks along with the Lily Cardigan.
Speaking of the Lily Cardigan, she has sleeves and more or less fits. I guess being sick isn't all bad if you get some time to knit. Photos to come.
Love the shoes! Yes you definately need a new pair of socks to go with
them! Can't wait to see your sick day knitting pics. Hope you are feeling
better. Everyone seems to have caught a little of this or that this
season... Can i be the weather? It is raing now! After all teh snow the
past few weeks!
oh perfect shoes for showing off your knitted socks!!
glad to hear you are on the mend. i am still fighting with mine-and have
not been able to knit at all :( So i am glad you were still able to knit.
looking forward to new pics.
They *are* adorable! And there's never a bad time for more socks. :)
Wow, you really do have small feet! Cute shoes! And they look great with
your handknit socks!
Sorry to hear that there's been sickness at your house too. Hope all are
well now. Those are the perfect "show off your socks" shoes! I am on the
opposite end of the spectrum with size 11 flat feet. Sometimes I wish for
smaller feet so sock knitting doesn't take me so long. :) Enjoy your new
shoes!
Those are adorable!!!! And perfect for showing off hand knit socks, I must
say. Excellent choice!!
