Look at that, just as I promised, a lousy photo of the sock in progress. Well it's a dark rainy day and I suppose a lousy photo is better than none. I am knitting a pair of socks for Spot N. This one sock is taking forever on my size 2.5 mm needles. It could be the super thin Jawoll sock yarn in this color. It could be the lack of time. But really I think it has to do with the speed with which N's feet are growing. Last week he got new shoes, boots actually, in size 9 1/2. The boy is only 33 months old. He's going to be BIG. So I better get used to knitting for HUGE feet.
Speaking of N. The hives continue but have lessened quite a bit. I'm going to start giving him back some of the foods he really misses like his favorite crackers and then I'm going to watch him like a hawk. He doesn't even seem to notice the hives. No scratching. No breathing difficulty. Very odd.
In the photo I managed to catch a corner of my new knitting bag. Nothing too fancy for me. It's a LL Bean Boat and Tote like this but not quite. I love having a bag that my needles don't poke through. Maybe I'll manage to hang on to an entire set of dpns for more than a week!
I ordered some yarn to knit these for H. Have you seen that new online craft magazine? I ordered from a new place because no one else had the right shade of blue and of course I screwed up the order. I emailed them so hopefully I won't end up paying twice for shipping and the extra skein of yarn I didn't even know I had ordered. I love being able to order on line when I know I can't get something locally but I wish I was better with technology.
Also on my to knit list is this. Enough said.
I've noticed that a lot of knitters are starting to express concern about getting their holiday knitting completed by gift giving time. I am so glad I am not in that boat. I do not knit for holidays, anymore anyway. I have a knitting horror story that involved knitting matching sweaters for 6 kids. They were completed by gift giving time but I was thisclose to serving Swanson TV dinners on Christmas. This year I have to bake about 12 dozen cookies, cook dinner and dessert for both Thanksgiving and Christmas and get my shopping done. Knitting will be the relaxing part of the holidays for me!
Added later: The Knit-Shop called. The problem is with the people hosting their secure server. I am not inept. They are shipping my order ASAP. Yay for good service!!
I'm not knitting much for the holidays either, just a pair of socks for my
mom and I've got half of a scarf left that someone is paying me to knit. I
just don't want to do it this year, I want to relax and just shop at Target
for everyone.
I can't believe that N wears a size 9!! My son's almost 4 and he's still in
size 4. He's also a really tiny guy, so I guess he's just at the opposite
end of the spectrum. My kids love those Annie's bunnies, too. I buy a
separate box for myself and hide it from them. ;-) And holy toledo, 6
sweaters??! I hear you about the eye twitch. I'm thinking of scrapping
the knit list and heading off to Old Navy, myself. :-)
